Take the Lead Animal Physiotherapy
Take the Lead Animal Physiotherapy is run by Katie Danby. Katie runs a dog physiotherapy clinic at Little Warden. She offers initial and follow up sessions as well as joint sessions with Oly from Dog Smart Training and Behaviour.
Some of the conditions that may benefit from physiotherapy include: orthopedic surgery, neurological conditions, nerve and soft tissue surgery and joint pain. In addition to this, Katie can also offer guidance and tailor a programme to enhance the performance of sporting and working dogs.
Katie has always wanted a career working with animals. After training as a human physiotherapist it was always with the intention of specialising in animals in the long term. As she puts it, ” I think pain in animals is largely under recognised and often misunderstood as ‘bad behaviour’. I wanted to use the skills that I had developed in human practice to help provide animals with the best opportunity for pain free movement and optimal quality of life.”
In 2020 Becs and Oly introduced us to Katie. They both gave Katie a glowing review after she had treated the Dog Smart Training and Behaviour dogs: Briar, Teak, Willow and Percy all of whom had very different needs.
We are extremely pleased that Katie has decided to run a clinic at Little Warden because we believe Katie’s reputation is a testiment to her dedication in providing the best care for all the dogs she treats.
Katie’s strength is her ability to empathise with pet owners and their dogs. She has a professional yet relaxed approach to rehabilitation and takes pride in keeping up to date with the latest research in order to provide the best care for your pet. Katie also provides detailed feedback to the relevant professionals in order for her patients to receive the best multidisciplinary care.
When Katie isn’t working she loves nothing better than going for long dog walks with her two Cocker Spaniels Buzz and Woody, pub lunches with park stops with her daughter.
